The third design option as shown in Figure 3.0. is located entirely to the east of the Tierrasanta Boulevard right‑of-way, using area that may be required for work in the open parcel. This design has the shortest path length (3,500 feet), and it only requires a slightly larger amount of right-of-way acquisition  (13 acres) than option 2 and 2A. As with Option 1 and 2, the entire path is located within land owned by J. J. B. Land Company.
