Mission Trails Project: A Water
Authority Invitation to Participate
A
commitment to gathering and integrating community input for construction
projects has prompted the San Diego County Water Authority to form the
Mission Trails Working Group. The working group’s efforts will focus on a
new construction project in Mission Trails Regional Park which includes the
construction of a flow regulatory structure and tunnel for a new section of
pipeline approximately one mile long. The working group will work with the
Water Authority’s project team to identify community concerns about the
project and propose ways to address those concerns.
The
communities of Tierrasanta, San Carlos and Allied Gardens, as well as park
users and the Mission Trails Regional Park Citizens Advisory Committee are
represented in the working group.
“The
Water Authority has a history of being open and incorporating community
input and concerns into its projects,” said Don Steele, a member of the
Mission Trails Working Group who serves on the Mission Trails Foundation and
is also a former park employee. “By forming this working group, the Water
Authority continues its good neighbor approach for Mission Trails Regional
Park.”
The
Water Authority invites the public to attend the next meeting of the working
group to learn about the input the group is providing the Water Authority
about the Mission Trails Project.
