Each year, City Council
reviews for approval the annual levy, assessment, and Assessment
Engineer's Reports for each Maintenance Assessment District (MAD).
This process, commonly referred to as the "Annual Update," requires
City Council approval to collect assessments from parcel owners
within each established MAD. (This annual update is part of the FY
MAD June Revision Memo, which is distributed to the Mayor and
Council in June as part of the budget hearings.) In addition,
Council approval is required for each Assessment Engineer's Report.
This report outlines the maintenance obligations of the district,
identifies the assessment amounts, and reaffirms the budget.
