Fireworks – An Explodingly Hot Topic for July 4th!

FIREWORKS - An Explodingly Hot Topic for July 4th

Hear ye, hear ye!  Red hot embers cause between 60-90% of home fires. Most of the time those embers are caused by wildfires and can be blown by the wind a mile from the wildfire.

But around the 4th of July we worry about fireworks because many produce embers or sparks that can catch leaves, dry vegetation, and homes on fire.  Fireworks even start wildfires! That, plus the danger of severe injury is why all fireworks (even sparklers) are illegal in San Diego except at authorized displays. San Diego Fire and Rescue created an impactful video.  Check it out, HERE.

There are options. For the “little ones” an alternative to sparklers are bright “glow sticks” and home-made, colorful paper streamers with ribbons and glitter.

Planning the perfect day: To experience all the holiday activities, find info at SanDiegoMoms.com   You will find parades and special events that kick off the day, well-chosen vantage points that give you incredible views and comfortable viewing experiences, and a complete fireworks schedule so you can plan around showtimes.

Happy 250th anniversary of the founding of America and please have a SAFE 4th of July.
