The Tierrasanta Community Council and Planning Group (TCC) is the officially recognized planning group for the Tierrasanta community.

  • Approximately 1/2 of the 16 TCC positions become available each year.  
    Positions up for election are announced in January.
  • Terms are for two years.
  • Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month in April, June, July, September, October, November, January, February, and March.
  • Elections held the 3rd Wednesday in March at the Tierrasanta Recreation Center, 11220 Clairemont Mesa Blvd.
  • The Positions of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer will be elected at April meeting from TCC members on odd years.  

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Open to a resident or property owner within the specific area of Tierrasanta who is 18 years or older as of 3rd Wednesday in March.
  • Candidate must have documented attendance to one Tierrasanta Community Council meeting in the previous 12 months.

CANDIDATE APPLICATION:

  • Must be received by President in February, by the 3rd Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.
  • Applicant must submit:
    1. Statement in writing eligible to serve
    2. 150 word statement
    3. Point of contact information (email, phone, address)
  • Must be submitted to either:
    Secretary of Tierrasanta Community Council & Planning Group
    President of Tierrasanta Community Council & Planning Group

VOTING:

  • March - ending by 3rd Wednesday of March. 
  • Tierrasanta residents and property owners are eligible to vote.
  • Candidate statements and the ballot are available on the TCC's website at www.tierrasantacc.org.
  • Voters may print the ballot from the website, cut the ballot out of the Tierra Times or use one of the printed ballots that will be located next to the ballot boxes in the community. 
  • A two-envelope system is required and available at voting locations. 
  • Votes are counted by the Election Committee after 7:00 p.m. at the March meeting of the Tierrasanta Community Council.
  • If number of candidates running are less than positions available, an election is not required and candidates may be affirmed at March meeting.

FIRST MEETING:

  • The first meeting for the successful candidates will be the regular meeting of April or any emergency or special meeting convened after March 18th.

UNFILLED POSITIONS:

  • Positions are not filled during March meeting are converted to at-large positions by a majority vote of the TCC that night.
  • Potential candidates who live or own property anywhere within 92124 can then be appointed to the vacant positions at the April meeting.
